Granola Subscription Plans
Granola offers two subscription tiers designed to meet different needs, from individual users to large organizations requiring enhanced security and admin controls. You can find more details on our pricing page.Free plan (Basic)
Our free plan lets you use Granola’s core features: AI-enhanced note-taking, Granola Chat, shared folders, multi-language support, and more. Note history on the free plan: You can only see and use notes from the last 30 days in the app. Notes older than 30 days are not deleted — we keep them stored — but they are not accessible in Granola. If you upgrade to a paid plan, you’ll regain access to your entire note history. If you need a record of older notes (e.g. before downgrading), export a CSV from Settings > Profile > Generate CSV; it includes titles and summaries (not full transcripts) and is emailed to you within a few hours.Business Plan - $14/month
Our business plan gives you unlimited access to your note history, integrations, and manual selection of standard and thinking models in Granola Chat. Meetings are not shared by default when you join a business plan: your notes remain private to you unless you share them!Enterprise Plan - starting at $35/month
Includes admin controls, enhanced security, priority support, and organization-wide policy management. For questions about plans, features, or enterprise requirements, visit our complete FAQ or contact sales@granola.so. View detailed pricing and features →What’s included on each plan?

Granola offers programs for startups and students that include 12 months free of Granola Business.- Startups — Apply at granola.ai/startups.

Security & Compliance
All plans include industry-standard security measures including data encryption in transit and at rest, secure AWS hosting in the US region, and the ability to opt out of model training. For detailed security information, visit our Trust Center or security page, or contact our sales team at sales@granola.so for enterprise security discussions.Billing
You can manage your billing under Settings > Billing in Granola. If you’re on a Business or Enterprise plan as part of a workspace, billing is usually managed by your workspace admin. All payments are handled via Stripe; when you click Manage subscription you’re taken to Stripe’s billing portal. If your bill is higher than you expect, check your Billing page and the Team list — you’re billed per seat (one per workspace member), so new joiners increase the bill. Proration is applied when members are added or removed.Common billing tasks
Change billing email address — In Granola go to Settings > Billing > Manage subscription. In the Stripe portal you can update the email address on file for invoices and receipts. If you don’t see Manage subscription, your workspace admin manages billing; ask them to make the change or add you as a billing contact. Find receipts and invoices — Open Settings > Billing > Manage subscription to reach Stripe’s portal. From there you can view and download past invoices and receipts. If you’re not the billing admin, ask your workspace admin to send you copies or to add your email as a billing contact in Stripe. Let someone else pay for your subscription — If someone else (such as a finance team member or company admin) needs to enter payment information on your behalf, go to Settings > Billing and click Share checkout link. This generates a secure link you can send to that person so they can complete checkout without needing access to your Granola account. The link expires after 7 days. Annual billing — Annual plans are not currently available. Billing is monthly only. Add GST, VAT, or a company tax ID to invoices — Go to Settings > Billing > Manage. In the Stripe portal, add your Tax ID under Billing Information. Tax such as VAT is automatically calculated based on your billing address. If you add a valid VAT registration number, VAT will no longer be applied to future invoices. Tax already charged on past invoices cannot be reimbursed by Granola — you would need to reclaim it through your own tax reclaim process. Downgrade from Business or Enterprise — To move to a lower tier or cancel: Settings > Billing > Manage subscription, then in Stripe select Cancel subscription or change plan. Your subscription continues until the end of the current billing period. After that, you’ll be on the Basic (free) plan with 30-day note access in the app. If you need to downgrade only some seats (e.g. fewer people on Business), remove those members from the workspace or move them to a different workspace; billing updates automatically. If you’d like a record of older notes before downgrading, export a CSV from Settings > Profile > Generate CSV; it includes titles and summaries (not full transcripts) and is emailed to you within a few hours. Use a promo or coupon code — On the Settings > Billing page, click Use coupon (or the option to subscribe to Business). A “Have a promo code?” step will appear — enter your code there; it will be validated and applied when you complete payment. If you don’t see that option, you may already have a discount assigned to your account, or you can contact hey@granola.so for help with a code. If you’re currently on a free trial, applying a coupon will not shorten or cancel your trial. Your trial continues as normal, and the discount is applied to your first payment after the trial ends. Promo codes are workspace-specific. A promo code applies to the single workspace where it is redeemed. Once used, it cannot be transferred or reused on a different workspace. If you have a promotion intended for a team, invite your teammates to the workspace where the code was applied rather than creating a separate workspace. You can invite members from Settings > Team. See Workspaces for more on adding teammates. Tax exemptions — If your organization is tax exempt, please submit your exemption certificate to hey@granola.so so we can update your account accordingly. What the free trial includes and what happens when it ends — If you’re on a time-limited free trial of Business or Enterprise, you have full access to that plan until the trial end date. When the trial ends, either subscribe (you’ll be charged) or you’ll be moved to the Basic plan, where note history is limited to the last 30 days, integrations other than Slack are not included, and Chat returns to Auto-only model selection. You’ll get email before the trial ends. How workspace billing works
Granola subscriptions are per-workspace, not per-user. This means:- Every member of a workspace shares the same plan tier (Free, Business, or Enterprise).
- You are billed per seat — each active member in the workspace counts as one seat.
- If you belong to multiple workspaces with paid subscriptions, you’ll see separate charges for each workspace.
Can I have mixed plans within a workspace?
No. Mixed tiers within a single workspace are not supported. If only some of your team need Business features, here are your options:- Keep a smaller Business workspace — Have only the team members who need Business features in a paid workspace. Other team members can use their own separate free accounts.
- Create separate workspaces — A Business workspace for power users and a Free workspace for others. Note that notes and folders are not shared across workspaces.
Removing members from a workspace
Removing a member from a workspace deactivates their account within that workspace. This means they will lose access to all their personal notes stored in the workspace. Before removing someone, consider whether they need to export or transfer any important notes. Removal requires a typed confirmation to prevent accidental changes. Payment method after removal: Removing a member does not automatically remove their payment method from the workspace subscription. If the removed person’s card is on file for the subscription, it will continue to be charged. When removing the person who set up billing, the workspace admin should update the payment method via Settings > Billing > Manage subscription.”What stopped working?” — I’ve been moved to the Basic plan and something’s different
If you’ve been moved to the Basic plan and something you used before no longer works, here’s what changed:I can't see notes older than 30 days
I can't see notes older than 30 days
On the Basic plan, only the last 30 days of notes are visible in the app. Older notes are stored but not accessible. You can still export a CSV of historical notes (Settings > Profile > Generate CSV) to get titles and summaries.
My integration (Notion, Zapier, etc.) doesn't work
My integration (Notion, Zapier, etc.) doesn't work
Integrations other than Slack (such as Notion, Zapier, Attio, HubSpot, and Affinity) are only available on Business and Enterprise plans. Slack remains available on Basic.
I can only use Auto in Chat
I can only use Auto in Chat
Basic workspaces use Auto only. Business and Enterprise workspaces can manually select standard and thinking models. On Enterprise, Fable 5 must also be enabled by a workspace admin under Settings > Workspace > Data security.
I want to upgrade just myself, not my whole workspace
I want to upgrade just myself, not my whole workspace
You can create your own workspace and move your notes there, then subscribe to Business for that workspace. See Creating and upgrading a new personal workspace.
I'm in multiple workspaces — which plan am I on?
I'm in multiple workspaces — which plan am I on?
Billing is per workspace. If you’re in more than one workspace (e.g. a personal one and a company one), each has its own plan. You might be on the free plan in one workspace and Business in another. The app shows the plan for the workspace you’re currently in. See Workspaces for how workspaces and billing work together.
