# Common feature requests

> Frequently requested Granola features and how to request new ones. See what's on the roadmap.

Our vision is that Granola will become the place where people in back-to-back meetings work, as an individual and collaboratively with their teams.

We're focussed on helping you get more from the information in your meetings (by getting insights via chat or by creating artifacts for you from them), and making it easier for your whole team to collaborate around the meetings being had at an organisation.

As a small team, we have to ruthlessly prioritise, and we aren't able to build everything we'd love to. Here are some of the features we're asked about most often and what we're thinking about.

## Transcription & speakers

### Speaker tags

This was one of our most-requested features, and it's now here. [Speaker tags](./taking-notes/speaker-attribution) label who said what in your transcript using each participant's display name, instead of just **Me** and **Them**:

* **Google Meet** — [available now](./taking-notes/speaker-attribution-google-meet) on macOS and Windows through the Granola browser extension.
* **Zoom** — [available now](./taking-notes/speaker-attribution-zoom) on macOS.

We're continuing to expand speaker tags across platforms. Even where they aren't yet available, our AI usually does a good job of inferring speakers from contextual clues in the transcript, and you can always correct a name directly in your notes or ask Granola Chat to update them.

### More languages

While we do support the [most common languages requested](./customising-granola/multi-language), we know not all are currently supported in Granola. You can [request more languages here](https://tally.so/r/mDAZlZ) and we'll work with our transcription provider to add them.

### Editing transcripts

It's not currently possible to edit transcripts. We're aware it would be useful sometimes to edit sections of the transcript, and it's something we're keeping in mind for future improvements.

## Capturing meetings

### Automatic start for all meetings

The ability to opt into automatically starting Granola for all meetings is under consideration. We're mindful of the complexities this might cause when people accidentally transcribe meetings or moments that they didn't want to be transcribed, so we want to build better functionality around deleting or editing transcripts first.

### Using Granola on mobile

Granola on mobile is best for in-person meetings. On iOS you can also make phone calls from the app; this isn't available on Android yet. On both platforms, we can't currently capture meeting audio for calls on platforms like Zoom or Google Meet, due to native OS restrictions on capturing audio, so our macOS and Windows apps remain the best option for virtual meetings.

### Audio or video recording & storage

At the moment Granola is optimized for brilliant note-taking and creation, and we don't have plans to start supporting video or audio recordings.

## Notes & organization

### Setting a default template

Meetings are summarized using our 'auto' template to begin with. You can choose different templates to change the way your notes are summarized, but it's not currently possible to set a default template other than the 'auto' option, or choose a template during or before the meeting. We're considering how to evolve templates and will try to take this use-case into account when we're designing it.

### Note organization & folders

We're always improving how notes are organized, and we know there's more we can do here. Frequently requested improvements include setting a default folder for new notes, automatically filing notes into folders, and filtering for notes that haven't yet been added to a folder. Better organization is an area we're actively investing in.

## Calendars & integrations

### Apple Calendar support

Granola currently syncs with Google Calendar and Microsoft/Outlook, but not Apple Calendar. We know this is a gap for people who rely on it, and it's a request we hear often. In the meantime, see [syncing your calendars](./getting-started/syncing-your-calendars) for the calendars we support today.

### Automatic export to integrations (e.g. Notion)

While we do support lots of integrations, they require you to choose explicitly to send each note, rather than automatically being sent to an integration. Right now we're focusing on organizing notes on-platform better, but automatic integrations is something we're regularly looking at. It's likely that our integrations will always involve an action like adding a meeting to a folder to trigger an integration to fire.
