# Automatic Heads Up for Google Calendar

> Authorize Google Workspace access and add Heads Up links automatically to eligible meetings.

Automatic [Heads Up](/help-center/consent-security-privacy/heads-up-for-enterprise) adds Heads Up links to eligible Google Calendar meetings. Organizers can create meetings as usual, without installing the Google Calendar add-on.

This feature requires activation for your Enterprise workspace. Before setup, arrange activation with your Granola contact.

## Authorize calendar access

A **Google Workspace super administrator** must complete these steps. The permission lets Granola read and update calendar events on behalf of users in your Google Workspace. See Google's [domain-wide delegation guide](https://knowledge.workspace.google.com/admin/apps/control-api-access-with-domain-wide-delegation) for details.

1. Sign in to the [Google Admin console](https://admin.google.com/).

2. Open **Security > Access and data control > API controls > Manage Domain Wide Delegation**.

3. Select **Add new** and enter Granola's Google service account client ID:

   ```text theme={null}
   116390797912685619156
   ```

4. Enter this OAuth scope:

   ```text theme={null}
   https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events
   ```

5. Select **Authorize**.

6. Confirm with your Granola contact that access is granted and automatic Heads Up is enabled for your workspace.

Your Granola workspace admin must also [enable the feature in Granola](/help-center/consent-security-privacy/heads-up-for-enterprise#enable-the-feature-in-granola) to complete setup.

## Create and check a meeting

1. As a Granola workspace member, create a future meeting in your connected Google account's primary calendar.
2. Add Google Meet conferencing and an internal attendee. For this check, do not book a meeting room.
3. Save the event and allow time for Granola to process the calendar update.
4. Reopen the event and check that its meeting link opens a Heads Up page.
5. Select **Join meeting** and check that you reach the Google Meet call.

Automatic setup applies to future meetings organized by the connected Granola user on their primary calendar. The event must have supported Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams conferencing. A link pasted only into the description is not enough.

All-day events, locked events, and Google Meet events with a booked meeting room are excluded from automatic link creation. Your workspace's [automatic meeting setting](/help-center/consent-security-privacy/heads-up-for-enterprise#choose-which-meetings-are-updated) determines whether internal, external, or all eligible meetings receive Heads Up links.

If your check does not show a Heads Up link, confirm workspace activation, calendar access, and these meeting requirements.

## Turn off automatic setup

Ask your Granola contact to disable automatic Heads Up updates for your workspace. Existing Heads Up links remain in calendar events.

To revoke Granola's delegated calendar access, your Google Workspace super administrator can remove its client ID (`116390797912685619156`) from **Manage Domain Wide Delegation**.

The [Google Calendar add-on](/help-center/consent-security-privacy/heads-up-google-calendar-add-on) remains a separate setup option.
